Priestmead Primary School Parent Associate

We would like to appoint 1 x Parent Associate from Priestmead Primary School to join the Priestmead Local Stakeholder Group (LSG) for governance. 

 

The Local Stakeholder Group (LSG) focuses upon the educational performance of the academy that it is responsible for. We meet once a half term, in-person or online, meetings lasting about 1-1½ hours.

 

The Local Stakeholder Group is collectively accountable to the Trustees for the performance of the academy that it oversees and is accountable for decisions that it makes under delegated authority from the Board of Trustees for The Pegasus Partnership Trust.

 

The objectives of the LSG are to ensure that:

  • Children’s performance, progress and outcomes are maximised;
  • Resources of the Academy are used effectively; and
  • The academy complies with statutory regulations and the Funding Agreements

 

Membership of the LSG is listed below:

  • Associate & Executive Headteacher (ex-officio) plus invited Senior Leaders
  • Up to 2 Staff Associates
  • Up to 3 Parent Associates (minimum of 2)
  • 1 Board of Trustee Associate
  • Up to 4 Appointed Associates (minimum 2)

 

We are looking for people who are interested in helping to support our school and have some time to contribute to the school community.  Skills which would assist in strengthening the LSG further including: growing into becoming Chair or Vice-Chair, and/or educational settings with an interest in EYFS and/or children with SEND. A good understanding of the local community is essential.

 

Associates serve a term of office of four years. Although, no previous experience is necessary, and any training required will be provided, as an LSG associates you will be expected to be making a positive and meaningful contribution to the committee by:

  • attending meetings, reading papers, and preparing questions for senior leaders in advance
  • establishing and maintaining professional relationships with senior leaders and colleagues on the committee
  • getting to know the academy, including visiting the academy during academy hours at least termly
  • undertaking induction training and engaging in ongoing development
