WONDERFUL WELLDON'S OFSTED
The Welldon Park Academy has been rated a GOOD school in all areas under the new OFSTED framework!
We are INCREDIBLY PROUD of our children, staff and families across The Welldon Park Academy, for their secure GOOD OFSTED Inspection in June 2023.
The five inspectors scrutinised every aspect of the school and its governance and were assured that Welldon is now a GOOD school with an embedded culture of safeguarding and ambition for its children.
The Welldon Park Academy was formed in March 2019 under The Pegasus Partnership Trust, a Harrow-based multi-academy trust that has one focus, “Children First”.
The transformation since it became an academy in 2019 is palpable, and this was captured in its first OFSTED inspection in June 2023.
A team of five inspectors observed, interviewed and scrutinised all aspects of the school over the two-day inspection. Their conclusion was The Welldon Park Academy is a securely GOOD school in all areas of EYFS, including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.
They recognised, “Leaders have high expectations for all pupils. They know and understand pupils and their families well…Leaders have designed a broad and ambitious curriculum.”
They were overwhelmed by the children’s confidence and pride when talking about Welldon, its values, its staff and how much they are learning to get them ready for the future.
As they wrote in their report, “Pupils enjoy school life. This is an inclusive school with a strong community spirit.”
Rachel Bates, Associate Headteacher, joined Welldon in September 2021.
“Welldon’s warmth is everywhere from when you step into the office, to the children and families in the playground. It is a very happy and energetic place to be. Children are nurtured and treated as individuals. I am incredibly proud of every member of our community and Ofsted’s recognition is the icing on the cake!”
Sash Hamidi, Executive Headteacher and CEO for The Pegasus Partnership Trust:
“Welldon’s children and staff are the true heartbeat of this local community. The Welldon community is unique and The Welldon Park Academy’s identity matches what is important to the community it serves. I am so proud of our children, our staff, Rachel, our leaders, and our governance teams both locally and at the Trust level. Everyone has been ambitious and relentless in transforming Welldon into a community, that can once again hold their head up high and feel proud. We are proud OFSTED recognised Welldon and Trust leaders “…take a rigorous and intelligent approach to school improvement.”
Have we perfected everything?
Not yet…but we will never stop giving our all.
